Dark Knight Tribute
Ahh…The Dark Knight. What a movie it was. It will probably go down as one of my all time favorites. So many paradoxes and complexities. Just brilliantly done. Of..course Ledger’s spin on the Joker was outstanding. I had actually created this piece before the movie came out. I started off in two steps. I created a couple sketches on craft paper with marker and pencil (Joker shown below..about 1.5-2hrs). Second step was to take the images, scan them in(actually photographed it), and create a photoshop layout that communicated the dark and sadistic character and overtones of the movie. I really enjoyed doing this piece.
I would eventually like to create another that captures the Batman’s desperation and sence of inner conflict and purpose. The Batman franchise has gone through so many different changes throughout its career both from the comic book scene and big screen. I was always intrigued with the different designs of the batmobile as well from movie to movie. That Joe, he’s a genuine art critic! Hands are difficult, no doubt, but the rendering in the face is nice!
